From November 19-21, 2024, IHCantabria in collaboration with CATEC hosted 2nd in-person meeting for the NATURE-DEMO Project in Santander, Spain.
This important gathering brought together 23 partners from 14 European countries to evaluate progress, exchange ideas, and define the next steps in leveraging Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to protect critical infrastructure from climate change.
Key highlights from the meeting:
- Updates on the technical progress across all 7 Work Packages (WPs).
- Presentation of demonstrators at 5 pilot sites in the Alpine biogeographic region: Austria ( link către pagina demonstratorului 1 si partenerul BOKU), Romania (link către pagina demonstratorul 2 si partenerul PPK), Slovenia (UL), Slovakia (TUZVO), and North Macedonia (IZIIS).
- Valuable feedback from the Advisory Committee (link catre pagina) to refine project direction.
- A guided tour of IHCantabria’s (link catre partener) advanced research facilities.
This second biannual physical meeting emphasized the importance of face-to-face interdisciplinary collaboration, strengthening the project’s mission to integrate infrastructure with nature for a climate-resilient future.
