A delegation from our project partner, the Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology (UKIM-IZIIS), participated in the 10th International Conference "Civil Engineering – Science and Practice" (GNP 2026), held from 4 to 7 March 2026 in Budva, Montenegro, and organised by the University of Montenegro.
About the Conference
GNP 2026 brought together researchers, professors, and engineers from across the region and beyond, providing an established platform for dialogue on current challenges in civil engineering and infrastructure resilience.
Presentations
The IZIIS research team — Marija Vitanova, Igor Gjorgjiev, Vlatko Sheshov, Borjan Petreski, Ana Nanevska, and Trajce Zafirov — delivered two oral presentations:
- "Regional Approaches to Nature-Based Solutions for Infrastructure Resilience" — focusing on how nature-based solutions can be applied at a regional level to improve the resilience and sustainability of infrastructure systems.
- "Scientific Projects Currently in Progress at IZIIS" — providing an overview of active research projects at the Institute, including NATURE-DEMO, and highlighting their objectives, methodologies, and expected impact.
The participation enabled knowledge exchange, feedback from international experts, and the strengthening of collaboration networks within earthquake engineering and disaster resilience.
For more information about the event, visit the official GNP 2026 Conference website.
Stay tuned to our Project Updates for more field results and dissemination activities from our 23 consortium partners.
