Mainstreaming Nature-based Solution for Climate Resilience Infrastructure in Europe at 4th Forum for the Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change

The fourth EU Climate Change Adaptation Mission Forum took place in Wrocław (Poland) on 19-20 May 2025, with the participation of the Polish Minister for Climate and Environment Paulina Hennig-Kloska and the European Commissioner for Climate Action, Net Zero and Clean Growth Wopke Hoekstra. The conference opened with a discussion on the climate resilience of cities, reflecting on the 2024 floods that Central Europe experienced in September. It was stated that climate adaptation is not a luxury but a necessity, and therefore climate, its changes and subsequent adaptation to them should be integrated into regular communication, especially between state representatives, but also in the private sector.

NATURE-DEMO represented VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava in the banner section and the priority was to familiarize the forum participants with the basic objectives of the project. This forum highlighted the diversity of countries and institutes in the discussions and brought climate change considerations to the forefront in specific regions.
