About
DHZ Zvolen is a volunteer association of citizens within the meaning of Act No. 83/1990 Coll. on the association of citizens, as amended. It is an independent, open, apolitical and independent civic association, which ensures and covers the interest activities of its members in the field of:
- fire protection
- flood protection
- saving life, health, property and the environment
- training, education and training activities of persons and entities involved in saving life, health, property and the environment in the field of the integrated rescue system
- preventive and educational activities in the field of saving life, health, property and the environment in the field of the integrated rescue system
- prevention of crime, the fight against crime and other antisocial phenomena
- activities related to road safety
- provision of performance sport and the development of physical culture, the organisation of sporting competitions and sporting events
- social and civic, in the form of cooperation with other clubs and associations
- cooperation with educational institutions in the Slovak Republic and the EU, by identifying and evaluating risks and security threats
- organising professional, educational and scientific activities, in particular conferences, seminars, courses and training
- developing and publishing preventive, educational, methodological and information materials, including electronic and printed publications
- consultancy, analysis, conception and study activities
- consultancy in the non-profit, government, public and for-profit sectors, human resources management, marketing and promotion, public and media relations,
- helping in rescue work necessary for coping with crisis situations in the territory of the Slovak Republic and the EU
- ensuring the protection, preservation, presentation and restoration of cultural and natural heritage
- development of youth education in the field of volunteering and sport
- development of science, research, development and innovative technologies
DHZ Zvolen also acts as an executive and project-management institute in the field of implementation of saving life, health, property and environment; providing assistance; prevention; providing pre-medical first aid and medical care; protection of nature, ecosystems and the environment; protection of cultural and historical heritage; lifelong learning of the services of the integrated rescue system; preparing and implementation of tactical and inspection exercises in cooperation with the Integrated Rescue System of the Slovak Republic, supporting the psychological and physical training of the officers of the Integrated Rescue System of the Slovak Republic.
The main objective of DHZ Zvolen is to participate in the protection of lives, health, property and environment from fires, floods and natural disasters, especially in crisis situations, emergencies, emergencies4 and distress assistance in the territory of the: cadastre of the Zvolen town; Banská Bystrica Self-Governing Region; Slovak Republic; European Union member states.
The target groups of DHZ Zvolen are citizens of the Slovak Republic, EU, V4 countries and other countries of the world who are in emergency in the target area.
Role
DHZ TUZVO is involved in implementation of all WPs (WP1-WP7).
Besides project management and coordination (WP1), DHZ Zvolen will contribute to

Our May 2026 newsletter is packed with updates on our efforts to advance nature-based solutions (NbS) for critical infrastructure. As the NATURE-DEMO project reaches its two-year milestone, we reflect on a period of intense collaboration and scientific innovation. With the successful completion of the first three Work Packages (WPs) on April 30th, the project has transitioned from a phase of digital and conceptual framework development into the real-world deployment phase.

NATURE-DEMO at two years: Celebrating milestones and launching the next phase in Brașov, Romania
𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄-𝐃𝐄𝐌𝐎 held its bi-annual consortium meeting in Brașov, Romania, between May 18–20, 2026, marking two years since the launch of the project funded by the Horizon Europe Programme and managed by CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency.
