Mohamed Eldessouki, from the Digital Innovation Centre, recently presented the NATURE-DEMO project – Nature-Based Solutions for Climate-Resilient Infrastructure – at the NetworkNature NbS Task Forces Cluster Meeting.
This meeting serves as a vital platform for collaboration, bringing together NetworkNature+ members, the European Commission (European Research Executive Agency and DG Research & Innovation), and experts from Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects to:
✅ Assess progress in Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) projects.
✅ Strengthen synergies across initiatives to maximize impact.
✅ Redefine task forces and foster cross-project interactions for enhanced cooperation.
As a newcomer, Mohamed’s presentation helped position NATURE-DEMO within this growing network of innovative projects, contributing to the dialogue on how NbS can drive sustainable, climate-resilient infrastructure development. By leveraging natural processes, we can create urban and rural landscapes that are more adaptable to climate change while delivering ecological and social benefits.
The engagement at NetworkNature+ highlights the growing importance of integrating nature into infrastructure planning. Collaboration is key to ensuring these solutions are effectively implemented and scaled.
